Weather (1)
From now on this site will be in English so that we can reach more readers. It is nice out here; you can see that from the pictures. Everyday it is now 40C and the sun always shines. When I go walking with the dog at 07.00 hrs it is already 30C and it is only mid May. Until now we do not mind the heat that much. Until 105 fahrenheit (41C) we can relatively easy cope with it as the humidity is very low.
At night it only cools down to about 25C and that temperature is only reached around 04.00 hr at night. Actually it is quity comfortable to be outside at night at the moment.
In The Netherlands, or Europe in general, hundreds people would die if the temperature would arrive at 40C and it would be called 'heatwave' (remember the heatwave in 2003 when so many people died in France and Italy). Not here; everything is designed to cope with high temperatures. All offices, houses and retail spaces have airconditioning.
Phoenix gets on average 100 days with temperatures exceeding 100 fahrenheit (38C). Until now we had about 4 or 5 of such days. This weekend the temperature is going to drop to a comfortable 98 fahrenheit (37C). Excellent pool and barbeque weather!
